COP15: COP-enhagen

The COP15 that was supposed to 'save the world' ended in complete failure. The US did not want an agreement and the Danish chairmanship followed the directives of the Obama administration. Obama made an agreement with a few countries, leaving aside the UN forum and procedures. The demands of the developing countries were completely ignored.

Almost two thousand peaceful demonstraters were arrested, and the protests were beaten up, attacked with tear gass, pepper spray, dogs etc. There has only been raised charges against some handfulls of people, including the spokespersons of Climate Justice Action, who are accused of planning riots, and some activists from Greenpeace who despite massive security succeeded in entering a galla supper, hosted at the parliament by the Danish queen, unfolding a banner that read: 'Politicians talk - Leaders ACT'
The Greenpeace activists are still held in jail, at least untill the beginning of January.

The delegates were not allowed to join the protesters, they were beaten by the police; several hundred protesters were arrested on their way to or at the Bella Center, including two Danish spokeswomen of Climate Justice Acton, who organized the event.
